In 2010 we had hoped to visit all 6 of our kids who are spread all around the US.  We have a new 85 Hp engine on the J-3 Piper Cub to handle the desert as well as the high places in Arizona and Las Vegas as well as help with the westerlies.  We hoped to see Mt. Rushmore, the Devil's Tower, San Juan Islands, Kitty Hawk and, perhaps, the lighthouses along the east and west coasts.  We did follow the Gulf Coast to Corpus Christi, and went to Okalahoma to follow the steppe to Denver.  That's as far as we got because we crashed in Colorado.  We never went back down to I-10 to go up through Arizona/California line to Las Vegas, seeing the Grand Canyon.  We'll go through Blythe, California up the west coast to Washington, then I-90 through the Rocky Mountains across to Maine to follow the lighthouses along the coast to Kitty Hawk and home. 
 Instead we are at home, ordering parts and preparing for a restoration of Yellowbird.
